One-to-One Global Initiative
We will begin distributing Chromebooks to 9th graders only during the Freshman Orientation Session on Tuesday, August 15, 2017. All Ebenezer, Hillcrest, and Mayewood Middle School students, who turned in a Chromebook at the end of last school year, and enrolled at Crestwood High School for the 2017/18 school year, may be able to pick up his/her laptop. In order for a student to receive a Chromebook and a hard-shelled case or laptop bag:
- All outstanding technology fees must be paid in full,
- A User Fee of $20 must be paid to the Bookkeeper,
- The original receipt must be presented to the Media Center Manager, and
- The One-to-One Global Agreement Form must be signed by both—parent and student. Parents please remind your child that he or she is responsible for the upkeep and security of the Chromebook and laptop bag or case, as outlined in the One-to-Global Parent/Student Handbook.
Note: 9th graders transferring to Crestwood from other assigned high schools within the district or those outside the Sumter School District will not be able to pick up Chromebooks during Orientation, but will be notified the first week of school of your pickup date. Transfer students will not be able to receive Chromebooks until registration at Crestwood High is complete and the four (4) above mentioned conditions are met.
All returning Crestwood students (current 10th graders) who paid the $20 fee on last year and those who will be paying for the first time this school year, must follow the same four (4) steps as outlined above. Please note, 10th grade students will not pickup Chromebooks during Freshman Orientation, but will be notified during the first week of school a date to pay fees and pick up their devices. All students who pay the User Fee ($20.00) and submit the signed Agreement Form by Tuesday, September 5, 2017, will be eligible to enter in drawings for one of four chances to win $25.00 gift certificates to a local Sumter merchant.
